Recently, the higher education professional evaluation institution ShanghaiRanking officially released the “2026 ShanghaiRanking’s Best Chinese Universities Ranking.” Our university ranked 86th nationally on the main list, climbing 3 places from last year, with the talent cultivation indicator rising from 95th to 84th place.

All 65 undergraduate programs with graduates from our university have been ranked, with one program (Mineral Resources Engineering) reaching the A+ tier, and 15 programs entering the A tier, including: Packaging Engineering, Thai Language, Intelligent Construction, Public Affairs Administration, Civil Engineering, Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, Mechatronic Engineering, Translation, Tourism Management, Ideological and Political Education, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, International Economics and Trade, English, and Computer Science and Technology. Additionally, the new program Data Computing and Application has performed impressively, entering the A tier.

Our university ranks first in the region in the total number of A+ and A-tier programs. Among them, Mineral Resources Engineering ranks 2nd nationally; Data Computing and Application, Packaging Engineering, and Thai Language rank 3rd, 4th, and 5th nationally, respectively. Multiple programs have shown steady improvement in rankings. Compared with 2025, a number of programs have advanced in ranking: Civil Engineering rose from 20th to 18th; Intelligent Construction from 15th to 13th; Mechatronic Engineering from 21st to 20th; and Translation from 24th to 21st. Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation climbed 9 places; International Economics and Trade rose 5 places; and Ideological and Political Education advanced 3 places.

In recent years, the university has fully implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, strengthened program development to improve the quality of talent cultivation, adhered to nurturing students with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, launched the “Fostering Virtue Through Education in Every Classroom” initiative in the new era, and innovated the pattern of ideological and political education. Committed to serving national strategies and regional development, the university has closely focused on the autonomous region’s strategic tasks of “One Zone, Two Bases, One Park, and One Corridor” and the “19+6+N” industrial system, continuously deepened the adjustment of disciplinary and program structures, added four “Four New” programs in the past two years, and continuously optimized the program structure. The university has deepened the “Five-Education Integration” talent cultivation system, promoting the all-around development of students in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. It has also adhered to AI-empowered program development, integrating intelligent technologies into the entire talent cultivation process, reconstructing the curriculum knowledge system, adding intelligent course modules, building smart teaching platforms, deepening university-enterprise collaborative education, implementing diversified talent cultivation model reforms, establishing innovative talent experimental classes to cultivate research-oriented talents dedicated to scientific research and technological innovation, innovatively constructing a three-tier minor program system of “Micro-Major—Minor Program—Minor Degree,” and implementing dual-certificate class reforms such as “Major + Minor” and “Major + ASEAN Non-Common Languages” to cultivate interdisciplinary talents. The university has been approved 46 national first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 33 autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites.

Going forward, the university will continue to deepen comprehensive education reforms, continuously improve teaching quality and service standards, and contribute greater efforts to building a strong education region and writing a new chapter of Chinese modernization in Guangxi.
