Vice Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee of Vietnam Leads Delegation to Visit GXU

On July 7, Bui Van Khang, Vice Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee of Vietnam, led a 30-member delegation on a visit to Guangxi University (GXU). The delegation toured the former site of Nanning Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone). Liang Enwei, Vice President of GXU, accompanied the visit.

Liang welcomed the delegation and guided them through a historical photo exhibition before they watched the documentary Deep China–Vietnam Friendship: Comrades and Brothers, which recounts the history of the former Nanning Yucai School. Reflecting on the profound revolutionary friendship between China and Vietnam, Liang noted that GXU shares a deep and distinctive historical bond with Vietnamese education. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to integrate educational resources between GXU and Vietnamese universities, expand areas of cooperation, and explore innovative collaboration models. He also proposed establishing a multi-level, long-term framework for educational cooperation, with a focus on deeper inter-university partnerships, joint talent cultivation, and two-way faculty exchanges.

Bui thanked GXU for its warm reception and said he was deeply moved by revisiting the history of the former Nanning Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone). He expressed the hope that Ha Long University and other Vietnamese universities would strengthen cooperation with GXU, particularly by jointly developing initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence. He also called for expanding student exchanges into large-scale joint talent cultivation programs, rather than maintaining the current limited level of exchange. In addition, he hoped GXU would dispatch Chinese language teachers to Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, to support local Chinese language education and strengthen the province's pool of Chinese-speaking professionals, thereby ensuring that bilateral cooperation delivers tangible outcomes.

During the visit, the delegation also paid tribute at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and met with GXU's international students from Vietnam's Quang Ninh Province to learn about their academic and campus life. The students performed Chinese songs during the exchange, showcasing their Chinese language proficiency and expressing the sincere friendship shared by the younger generations of China and Vietnam.
