On July 3, a delegation led by Professor Wattana Rattanaporn, President of Suratthani Rajabhat University, Thailand, visited Guangxi university for inter-institutional exchange and cooperation talks. Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU, chaired the symposium and, on behalf of the university, exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding on inter-institutional cooperation with the delegation on site.

Yu Wenjin pointed out that Guangxi University, with its unique geographical advantage of being adjacent to ASEAN, has long been deeply engaged in the field of China-ASEAN educational exchange and cooperation, and has established solid and regular cooperation bridges with many Thai universities. The two universities share compatible educational philosophies, have a deep foundation of cooperation, and enjoy broad prospects for development. He expressed the hope that both sides would take this exchange as an opportunity to deepen two-way exchanges of high-caliber faculty. By leveraging Guangxi's geographical advantages, industrial resources, and special policy support, the two universities can regularize faculty visits, lectures, academic visits, and research collaboration, and build a high-quality platform for faculty exchange. He also called for strengthening joint research efforts, facilitating precise alignment and close collaboration between research teams, actively applying for national and provincial-level research projects, jointly conducting special topic studies, and facilitating the translation of research outcomes into practical applications, thus achieving coordinated development of industry, academia, and research.

Professor Wattana Rattanaporn expressed gratitude for our university's warm reception and thoughtful arrangements, and gave high recognition and positive responses to the cooperation proposals put forward by our university. He stated that Suratthani Rajabhat University attaches great importance to Sino-Thai inter-institutional cooperation and looks forward to establishing a long-term and stable strategic partnership with Guangxi University. The university will actively build bridges for faculty and student exchanges, improve the regular mechanisms for two-way academic visits and student exchanges, and deepen research related to China-ASEAN regional development. At the same time, it will focus on frontier advantage disciplines such as agricultural technology, artificial intelligence, and digital technology to carry out targeted joint research, jointly build an international talent cultivation system, apply for international research projects and high-level cooperation platforms, and leverage the distinctive disciplinary resources of both universities to empower the high-quality development of the China-ASEAN region.

During the symposium, both sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics including the joint development of "AI+" interdisciplinary programs, international joint talent cultivation, two-way student exchange, and the deep integration of research projects with teaching, reaching multiple substantial cooperation agreements.

During the visit, the delegation successively toured our university's China-ASEAN Research Institute / Guangxi Institute of Innovation and Development, and the Sugarcane Biological Breeding Experimental Center at the School of Agriculture, to inspect the achievements in distinctive disciplinary development, the operational models of China-ASEAN regional research platforms, and the practices of deep industry-university-research integration, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our university's educational characteristics and international development strategy.
